  • Layout changes to the ward for compliance with HBNs
  • New mechanical services including hot, flow and return
  • Entire ward including heating and cooling, new BMS system installed
  • New electrical submain, DB system, small power and lighting
  • New fire doors throughout including 3rd party sign off
  • New vinyl cove and cap flooring
  • Bedhead trunking, nurse call, fire alarm system and fire dampers
  • New medical gas services including high flow oxygen
  • New suspended ceilings and MF ceilings throughout
  • Fire stopping works throughout the ward
  • New medical units supplied and installed
  • Murals installed on the walls to create an improved environment for the children

GB Contract Services were successful in tendering for the design and build of the refurbishment of the Whipps Cross Hospital Acorn ward phase 1.

Working with our existing supply chain and the nominated Trust suppliers GB Contract Services produced design drawings compliant to HBNs/HTMs and building regulations.

This project needed to be completed by the end of the Trust financial year, we mobilised quickly with the support of our supply chain and completed this project within the required timescales without sacrificing the quality needed.
